Royalties

Protonauts implements royalties using LimitBreak's Creator Token Standards, specifically ERC721c and ERC1155c. These standards provide a more robust and enforceable approach to royalties compared to traditional methods.

Creator Token Standards

The Creator Token Standards (ERC721c and ERC1155c) developed by LimitBreak offer several advantages:

  • On-chain Enforcement: Unlike traditional royalty standards that rely on marketplace compliance, these standards enforce royalties at the contract level
  • Marketplace Independence: Royalties are enforced regardless of which marketplace is used for trading
  • Flexible Implementation: Allows for customizable royalty structures while maintaining compatibility

How It Works

The Creator Token Standards work by implementing transfer hooks that verify royalty payments before allowing transfers to complete. This creates a system where:

  1. When a Protonaut or Protonaut Equipment is sold, the transfer function checks if appropriate royalties have been paid
  2. If royalties haven't been paid, the transfer is rejected

Benefits for the Ecosystem

By implementing these standards, Protonauts ensures:

  • Sustainable funding for ongoing development and community initiatives
  • Fair compensation for the team
  • A more robust economic model that supports long-term growth
